Terms of Service
1. Purpose
These Terms govern the CodeBattle code-strategy battle service and the rights and responsibilities of its operator (“we”) and users. By using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
2. Service
CodeBattle runs JavaScript strategy code in your browser for battles against AI or online opponents. Core games are available to guests, and member features use Google login. Games, rules, and features may change for improvement, security, or operational reasons.
3. Member accounts
- You must log in with a Google account you are authorized to use.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
- Users under 14 must not use member login until we provide a verifiable parental-consent process.
- You can delete your account at any time. Logging in with the same Google account later creates a new CodeBattle account.
4. User code and rights
You retain rights to code you write. You permit the code to run temporarily in your browser as needed to conduct battles and display results. We currently do not store user code on our server; it is stored only in browser localStorage.
Do not include material that infringes third-party rights, personal information, secrets, or malicious behavior in your code.
5. Prohibited conduct
- Impersonating another user or the operator, or using another person's account
- Disrupting the service, servers, or networks, or bypassing security controls
- Creating excessive load through automated requests, repeated logins, or match requests
- Using unlawful, threatening, discriminatory, harassing, or rights-infringing names or content
- Using the service to distribute malware, gain unauthorized access, or collect personal information
6. Restrictions and termination
We may restrict requests or suspend accounts without prior notice when prohibited conduct, a security risk, or a legal violation is identified. Where practical, we will explain the reason and how to contact us.
7. Availability and responsibility
We use reasonable efforts to provide a stable service, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, any particular battle result, permanent data retention, or fitness for a particular purpose. You are responsible for backing up browser-stored code and protecting secrets.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for unforeseeable failures, outages of external services, or losses caused by your code, device, network, or violation of these Terms. Liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence is governed by applicable law.
8. Changes and governing law
We may update these Terms as the service changes and will display the effective date. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the parties should first attempt to resolve disputes through consultation.
